DOWNLOAD MANAGER 1.0 – BETA TESTERS NEEDED

Posted by Bill Bradford on Aug 28, 2002

Sun needs beta testers to help test Sun(tm) Download Manager
1.0 (SDM), the world’s first 100% Java GUI-based download
manager. SDM works on any platform running J2SE v1.2.2 or
higher (including Solaris 8 and 9, Linux, Windows 98, ME,
NT, 2000, XP, and Mac OS X), and uses patent-pending
technology to improve the reliability of large file
downloads (e.g., Solaris binaries) from the Sun Download
Center and other HTTP download sites.

I find impossible to download large files from http://www.sun.com. I would like to try this

Yes sun download manager is a good one from sun micro systems. But it needs so much modifications.I’m telling you this because it really is unreliable.I gave it a download and after some 30mbs or so the power went down. so when i get back to the os it says that there was a error and sdm was shut down and my 30 mb piece is also gone.So there is no recovery method to it.
