I have a link some where for Linux client softwar for phone calls...

Try "+linux +client +h.232" (or whatever that standard is) at Alta Vista (still my favorite search engine).

There are also the "YAP" boxes (about $100) at CompUSA to allow youto use a phone for VoIP calls) - platform independent, just an RJ-11 jack on the back.

www.net2phone.com may have some leads for you too (most/all software available inthe wild is free for use between nodes, it only costs money when you wander outside the Internet and onto the PSTN)...

Is there an good VoIP software for linux? I tried searching for it on
Google, but I mostly got hardware solutions that used embeded linux.
I've been reading alot about VoIP and thought it would be fun to try. A
large number of the dorm students I know use it to keep in touch with the
ol' home town.
