Um... I installed slink in 8 meg once :)  Generally I won't touch a
computer unless either 1) it's got 16 meg of ram or 2) I'm about to
upgrade it to 16 meg (or more) of ram.  Beyond that everything I'm
surrounded by has at least 32 meg (many as high as 256-512 meg and soon
even higher)

Woody will work fine with 2.4.  Hell, Potato works fine as long as you
upgrade modutils and probably others as needed by your setup.

It's... different.  Overall it's about the same.  It uses the page cache
more aggressively, though.
