OK, this might be totally heritical, but has any one ever considered
trying to port the Gimp to a super computer?  At least then it could be
demonstraight that the gimp on a EL could outperform the fastest Altivec
box running Photoshop.

OK, this is what I get when I sink to reading slashdot.  Someone said that
obviously the G4 is faster because real speed tests use Photoshop, and
obviously Crays fail that test.
