Are you going to 7 or 2000? I've used and wasn't impressed with 7,
although it is definately better than Access, and it did behave reasonably
competently (but then I didn't stress it either. Except for lack of
transactions, MySQL also would have been a good fit). I haven't tried
2000, but I haven't heard anything significant about it other than XML
support, which may or may not actually be usefull.
2003 though sounds rather interested in some ways. The big push there is
to be better at handling unstructured data. My understanding is that
currently Exchange is built on Jet, and they want to move it to SQL
Server, but it needs improvements first. They also have reported split
Transact SQL off as a .NET language.
But most interesting of all is that it seems that they want to move to SQL
Server being the file system in later versions of Windows.
