I had a friend whose father drove a VW Vanagan.  Well, in a bad thunderstorm,
a tree fell on the van, so his father had it converted to a pickup (basically
just remoddeled the back, looked really wierd with that super blunt nose) which
my friend then drove.  He also took it off road.  That was a wild site, and 
probably not too smart.

Me, I drive a fairly low slung sedan, and I keep it on the road where it 
belongs.  Still, it can haul a fair amount of stuff, and I know where to borrow
a van when I need one,
