[geeks] WTH* - access SMB shares from OS X

What The Heck (WTH) - Apple says I can mount/access SMB shares in an SMB 
workgroup, but I can't figure it out!

If I go to the Finder, choose "go" on the menu, then "Connect to 
Server..." option, all I can do is specify an IP address...  The help 
pages I've seen show an ability to specify a workgroup, user ID and 
password - any one know how to set this up?
