Try reading the docs.  I'm not at home so I can't search my links, but sometime
in the past 2 months I posted a link to all the 2500 documentation.  However,
my memory is that loading new firmware over the network required that you have
working firmware, since the machine doesn't actually netboot.

Anyone who has these should mention it on the list, since there are quit a 
number of us with 2500s, and most of us would probably be interested in 
aquiring 100mbit support.
