I read that as someone wit 4-10 yrs exp., who has worked with C, Linux, and Kernel. I do not read this as 4-10 yrs *each*.
Maybe I am too close to recruiters (I socailize with a few), but that is my take. I suspect what they want is someone comfortable inside the Linux kernel, but *do not* want code weenies just out of college (or, gawd-forbid) High School...
Just a thought,
Ken

Once in a while I get random messages from recruiters. Not only is this
guy trying to recruit me for a development position (and I'm a sysadmin)
but look at the requirements: 4-10 years of Linux kernel development?

Me again. Long time since we last touched bases. Here is a job my client is desperate to fill. Not sure if a sure fit, but I thought I present you with the opportunity anyways. My client is into developing cutting edge Storage Solutions SAN NAS concepts. They need at least two Engineers with 4-10 years exp in "C" Linux Kernel and-or Fiber Channel Protocols. Position is perm in Milpitas CA, salary is OPEN, any scosys with embedded programming exp., is considered a plus. If interested, get in touch with Dan Wilson at 480 488 1000.
