Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives = RAID.
Seems to me, that if you take a bunch of IDE wonder disks (from BestBuy.com, etc.) - at, say, 15 Gigs for $50, or 30 Gigs for $100 you don't have to spend much on the drives to get a large array of "mirrored" drives.
Now, if you run a software RAID package, you could probably rig up something to improve the performance of the array of inexpensive drives...

A new raid? I mean, MP3s are nice if you like them, but they aren't worth
priemium quality storage. I always that that the cheapest IDE should be
good enough.
