It seems there is a lack of response....
I have had very good luck using 8 and 16 port serial boards with Linux. The
cheapest term server I know of is the lantronics for about $1100. My employer
uses the linux/digiboard solution for about 75 ports worth of Sunboxen and
router/switch management.
