Which Apex? Doesn't matter. You probably can find what you need
here:http://www.dvd-wizards.com/darrenk/. You either want to burn a
region free eeprom, or you can easily make a switchable region 1/region 0
or region 1/region (whatever hong kong is). Numerous movies in the US use
something called RCE that doesn't work nicely with tergion free players.
For the AD-500w there is a work aound at the above site. I don't know
about other models.
