I think the reason most people don't oppose background tests is because they
either don't relize that it gets done and that doesn't directly effect them.
There was only one time that a company told me that a background tests was
being done and it was understood, because of the security clearnces that
needed to be aquired because of the job. Now I know that most larger
companies do them but they never tell you about it...
But yeah, I don't like the background checks either...

BMC used to do nicotine tests. Then they acquired some companies that
allowed smokers, so no longer.

I'm about to offend some folks, so Bill, if you ask, I'll drop the
thread or move it.
I've noticed that very few of the folks who oppose drug tests don't do
drugs, or at least haven't done drugs. I'm very interested in personal
privacy and civil liberties, but I really don't see how a drug test
invades these rights. Doesn't a background check invade ones privacy
much more? Yet nobody ever seems to oppose background tests.
