Try again, to call this an "obscure" URL would be an understatement ;^)

I did have to re-enable wildcards on my dyndns.org account, dunno if that
would be related...

n2vip.dyndns.org is pointed towards my DSL account,

my DSL account has my Linksys pointed at the SS/5 as the DMZ host

And it should all just "work" :^)
