150Kb/s != 150 KB/s. A 1x CDROM spins at 300 RPM at the beginning of Track
1, and has a typical or intended (I can't remember which) transfer rate of
150 KB or 150 KBytes per second. 4x is 600KB/s.

Furthermore, 174KB/s * 8 (bits per byte) = 1392Kbit/s, or 144Kb/s shy of a
full T1, not including IP overhead.
