Yeah, that does sound like a French 'tude. I have often suspected that
everything they do is done differently only because they can call it their
own. Never has a nation more stubbornly stood by something in the light of
evidence that its fiscally/technically/morally/whatever inferior. On the
opposite side of the coin you have the US, which will quickly adopt anything
that's better/cheaper/faster/tastier. The French still haven't recovered
from the embarrassment that California vineyards handed them.
