indeed GS can be pretty crappy -- it's good enough for previewing, but

But Apple doesn't do that kind of marketing? I mean would you ever even
imagine Apple to come close to mentioning PDF or PS in one of their ads?

No, PDF was chosen simply because Adobe's greed was too high to choose PS.
