Network? what network? I think I am quite possibly be the only person
on this list with only one working machine. I have pieces for 3
others, a 486, a P75 and a P233, but each had a problem so I
dismantled them for power savings and have not had a chance to put
any together. I tried to use the 486 as a router but had problems
with Red Hat 6.2 and ISA cards, as many on this list know well. I
have yet to try BSD due to a lack of burner and CD R's in house.

As for the lease it usually expires when I am sitting here, but it
has happened when I am both here and away from the keyboard.

I didn't see in this thread if you said you used more than one
machine on your cable modem connection. What does your network look
like?

Do you lose the lease while you are sitting there working, or is it
lost during a period of time you are away from your computer?
