[geeks] Nice Hi8 vs cheap DV

I've been checking out camcorders.  I lack sufficient friends with the things
to be able to do much hands on testing.

Does anyone care to compare nice Hi8 camcorders (nice meaning a minimum of
being a 3-ccd unit), versus cheap (sub $900 1-ccd) DV cameras?  I'm worried
about lighting problems, and frankly like the idea of being able to use 
filters on the camera.  Nice Hi8 models like the Sony VX3 seem to be coming
close to affordable now.
