I think the thought process is "MS is a huge corporation, they've got
deep pockets, and they'll be around for a long time.  Therefor we don't
need to worry about the vendor disappearing in the next couple of years,
and our infrastructure and end-user skills are safe."  Flawed yes, but
that's the way suits think.  Never mind "that unix thing" has been
around longer than most people on their staff...

I haven't lost a single byte of work since I started using SGI
machines.  I did lose a few things on my Sparc Classic when it suffered
a power outage a few years ago - just by virtue of not having a
journaled FS.  Same thing coulda happened on an other computer at that
time though.
