I've mostly noticed this with extended ASCII characters (with accents,
etc). Annoying, but I can hit ^L a couple times pretty fast.
I'd suggest you file a bug report if you haven't already - or I can pass
it along to a friend who works at Apple. They're pretty good about
getting stuff done, and if more people report problems/requests they're
more likely to increase the priority of that fix/feature.
Still waiting for the option I requested for Mail.app so it'll display
the date/time a message was sent, as specified in the original Date:
header (now it displays when Mail.app received them - ick), but I'm real
happy that they added CRAM-MD5 and then SSL to the IMAP support. :)
