Do you remember the older Motorola "bag" phones? They were the
car and transportable phones that Motorola sold before the flip
phones became popular. They were perfect. They had a mic above the
driver, the handset in the cradle... So good. And Motorola did make
a cradle for some of their earlier handhelds.. that would dock the
phone with an outside antenna (and even a 3 watt booster if you had
money). I'm not positive, but I **THINK** it would be possible to wire
the car mount handset from the Motorola "car phones" to their early
flip phones with the way their protocols worked.

Now everything is tacky hack accessories with cigar lighter plug
in modules with microphones in them and stereo feeding speakerphones.
