If the Sparcstation 5 was used in Military combat systems or other
such setups, it might be possible Sun signed a contract to provide
availiblity on a particular system for an extended amount of time.

Rumors I heard people saying was that the only reason Solarix x86 was
around that long was because of such an agreement.
