I remember when my dad figured he'd upgrade our 486/33 (first DX out, with
30pin simms) from 4mb to 8, by buying one 4mb simm for a little over $400.
Mom was thrilled when he got three more so that we could use the first one,
yeah $1600 for 16mb of ram for a 486.  That sucker came with windows 3.0,
eventually ran win98se without too much trouble (with a 133mhz upgrade
processor).  That $6000 pc is now a lampstand.
