I'm just practicing the deterministic view of reality which says that a
cause with no effect is a cause which can be skipped.  As opposed to the
systemist view (which is just the scientific name for eastern mystic view, 
since scientists don't want to admit being mystics) that all things are
connected, and causes make a difference, even if there is no measurable
effect.

Or something.  I'm working on a philosphy of science paper.
