They're common in California, at least out in the desert - I don't know
about near the metro areas.  They're not fun when you get passed by one,
and you're riding a motorcycle.  The suction begins about halfway down
the first trailer, and continues on until the whole vehicle passes you. 
It's actually physically strenuous...
