Well, no.  The .50AE is a pretty hot load.  Average muzzle velocity for this
firearm is around 1400fps, and is a 300gr projectile.  The .45 ACP is a lighter
load at 185-230gr, and average muzzle velocity is is anywhere from 800 to
1000fps.  The .45 ACP was designed to impart maximum impact on soft tissue, and
not penetrate the target fully - remaining in the soft tissue.  The .50AE,
though is not necessarily designed for that purpose.

There are magnum loads for .45, but I've only rarely seen custom loads over
1200fps.
