Ended up putting it on top of another center-mount shelf on the rack 
*next* to the one that the actual server was in, which had the extra 1/2" or
so I needed to be able to fit.

(This datacenter used to be a phone switch room, so there's lots of those 
 "just too small" relay racks...)
