Some of the stuff companies are getting away with these days seems
illegal. $friend works for $large_tech_support_company. Three writeup and
you get fried.
Losing your badge and getting a temporary one is a writeup. BUT, you can
outright purchase a new one with no problem.
Being more then .001NS late is a writeup.
Being more then 10 minutes early is a writeup.
Not taking your break is a writeup. (The scheduling software is down 90%
of the time, so they need to ask their lead/manager, who invariably says
no.)
Not filling out each ticket 100% correct... writeup. (No grace period for
new people BTW.)
Entering from the wrong door... writeup.
Driving the WRONG WAY in the (unmarked) parking lot... writeup.
Telling the customer of the companies "REAL" name. (This is one of those
companies that contracts to the big guys to do support.) But the city
location is fine.
Telling friends/family/SO any "internal" details. Apparently job
description, phone extension, and which team you're on qualify for that.
And lots more that I've surpressed....
