Caffeine has an LD/50 of 240mg per KG (I.e. it takes 240mg of caffeine
per KG of body weight to kill 50% of people).

Allowing for an average 75KG - 80KG person, you'd need about 18 - 19.2
grams of caffeine.   There is approximately .29mg of caffeine per can of
Mountain Dew - which means you'd need between 258 and 275 cans to kill
50% of an average weight population.
