You need "sgen"!  (Presuming you're on Solaris 8. If you're not you need
"sst" or something like that).

Edit /kernel/drv/sgen.conf and put in an entry for your changer, then
reboot.  You should now have a device something like
/dev/scsi/changer/cXtXdX which mtx (and i presume stctl) will be happy with.
