Think of how different things would be if Sun and DEC had been
able to come to agreement on the Alpha and Solaris.  Sun could
have concentrated on Solaris and DEC could have concentrated
on the Alpha processor.  You could then buy a Sun box or a
DEC box, and they'd be binary compatible systems running Solaris
on an Alpha.
