Why in God's name do they put gigantic rims and low-profile tires on
something billed as "OFF ROAD".  Those tires would go >pop< within a few
minutes of hitting most off-road trails...

Ask anyone who wheels, and they'll tell you that big tall *sidewalls* are
what you want when off-road.  That allows the tires to flex and absorb the
shock of sharp things without taking a puncture.  It just wouldn't be
possible to air down those low-profile tires enough.
