I used to feel the same way and sent plain text.  That got NO return
calls.  So I switched to HTML.  It never renders the same way on two
systems.  Some who got HTML even asked for DOC afterwards. (!!!)

So I installed OpenOffice.  So far so good.  For simple documents, such
as a resume, it works fine.
