No. It should go to the serial port if it can't find a keyboard. If in
doubt remove the framebuffer and set the console variable on the boot
prompt to serial. Then it will use serial console regardless of the
precence of a framebuffer and / or keyboard.

Nothing special. Console is on port 3, regular RS232-DTE pinout. You
will need a null modem / crossed cable.
