Hell, yes!  When we adopted what turned out to be our biggest
cat, he was just a small kitten that could fit in the palm of
your hand.  My wife brought him home from work one day (he was
living out of the garbage behind the building) and he loved to
sleep on our chests nuzzled under our chins.  Unfortunately,
the switch from eating garbage to normal cat food made him
extremely gassy.  A cat that farts all night sleeping under
your chin is not pleasant.  Fortunately that passed after
about four days.

Every now and then one of the cats will let one loose.  The
way you can tell is they usually jump up and run away, then
a few seconds later the smell hits.
