I was at a dive chinese place in San Francisco in the early 90's.  After 
my meal I opened my fortune cookie and it said (and this is no bullshit):
"You will die a lonely, cold and disturbing death."

I still have the paper in a drawer.

Needless to say I don't visit many cold places alone. :-)
