Exactly.  At work, you have to make stuff work for other people.
Demanding people.  You also don't have much time to play, and people are
counting on you to get it right the first time.  At home, I can
play, do "what if", and work on hardware that I never could afford when it
was new.  (Like a IIfx, for example.)

I call it "mental masturbation".
