Well, an 8500 can be found cheap. (I've got one I might be persuaded to 
part with.)
Add a G3 CPU - they start at <$100 at OWC.
Memory - 128M dimms are around $26 at OWC.  So, for $200-$300 you could 
build a decent OS X box...
