It's time for a break when I write the date on cheques in ISO format. I
got fed up with the confusion of different date formats* online and started
using ISO there, and it's leaked into the real world.
* 06-05-02 is the sixth day of may here, is the fifth day of june in some
places, and is the second day of may 2006 in others. If, however, I write
2002-06-05 there is no confusion. And if stupid people don't get it, I can
just point at the standard and look smug.
YYYY-MM-DD (or YYYYMMDD) is also nice n' convenient to sort, without having
to convert to epoch time or similar first.
