It was no longer possible to succeed by the time I left. In all
fairness it was simple coincidence that I left after he admitted he
couldn't find an all Windows organization that was secure. He was a
bad teacher and I am told that at least half the class dropped out
shortly after me, or stayed and failed the course anyway. In the end
what takes 5 minutes with Linux and maybe a good book to learn, takes
hours with Windows and months to learn.
It just doesn't make sense to teach people how to try to mix security
with Windows, when Linux or OpenBSD could be made much more secure, a
lot easier. I do plan to go back to school, but it will be a
different school with a more open minded thought process and a little
more preparation on my own behalf. I still have all my windows books,
and did learn quite a bit, so at the very least it should be easier.
As well, I have already completed part of the Cisco cert.
