Ok, I will spare myself and everyone else from a quote, in whole or in part. I know you
said the rant was not aimed at me, but uses me as an example. So, I will respond with
myself as the example. Actually, I have been told that a lot of people care what I write.
Perhaps not anyone on this list, in fact I know a few people think what I write is a waste
of disk space and time, and my time would be better spent searching my ear drum for tasty
nuggets of ear wax. That said, just as you don't care for my blog, or my pronouncement of
myself as a blogger, which is a title to me and many of my closest friends, I don't care
that you dislike my blog, my title of blogger, or my thoughts that blog's are becoming
important.

The idea behind blog's are not new. I never said they were. The point is the community
behind blog's and the ease of which it is now done, contrary to the laziness of those with
no interest in service, with a lot more ease with less technical knowledge necessary to
get started. I am a geek, though that may be in question, and no one will convince me
otherwise no matter the efforts. I blog. That is doing. I write about my troubles,
experiences and I get offers and suggestions of help. I help others who come to my blog
from Google and Yahoo, All the web and a number of other US and foreign based languages.
this is doing that I couldn't do from any other site. Google has seen the usefulness and
spiders blog's several times a day.

I know you all think that overall blog's are wastes of time. Don't read them then. don't
think about them and ignore their existence. I have said it before, the blog's I read have
just as much relevant and useful info in relation to the useless and worthlessly fun stuff
as this list. These may be the exception. What you take from a blog is decided by both
what you go into it expecting and what your interests are. How many of you find
Microsoft.com the best site on the net? Few I assume, because Windows and the other
Microsoft crap is not in your interests, but for other's the site is a treasure of useful
info to their lives and work. It's all in perspective.

I pointed out other blog's awhile back, and the first reply was one pointing out the
useless stuff on them. they ignored the good stuff and simply pointed out the bad. Never
mind that those blog's had an average of 12 posts each that day, and maybe 5 between the
three were of a personal and non technical nature. How many posts out of a dozen on this
list are useless discussions of Dave's farting, or his apparent lust for all of our
sister's? What about those posts devoted to crap from Rotten or other such disgusting
links? If I took 5 of the most useless posts and claimed that this site was nothing but
childish freaks amusing each other with rude and disgusting links, you would all disagree,
I would hope, because they are a miniscule portion of the actual content. The same goes
for blogs. A select cross section of anything, even Windows, can show something very
different then the sum. If you take the last couple of week's in open source news, the
OepnSSH and Apache vulnerabilities, you will see that open source is insecure and useless
for anything on the internet.

I have said it before, and I will reiterate my request. I like this list. I respect you
all for your experiences and interests, as diverse as you all are. you have been a wealth
of info to me, and have helped me learn more then 6 months in college did. you don't like
blogs. I love them. I enjoy them. I post 10's of posts, often 10 or more in a day. All I
ask is that I, or the idea, are not slammed every time they are mentioned.
