I had two German short-haired pointers growing up. One male, one female.
When it rained, the male would guard both doghouses in the pouring rain,
not go inside and accept being soaked just to keep the female from going
in either one. When my mom and I would give in a take her inside, he'd
continue to stand in the rain and begin to "demand" that he also be let in
the house.

All dogs have personality. Some just are weird.
