it's coming up on vacation time again here at the bradford house. although
we probably won't be going anywhere--can't afford anything)--i'd like for
both of us to drop the system shit for a week to recover (think hide in an
unelectrified cabin in the woods like the unabomber and you get the
general vacation idea) from the last year.
anyways, in all seriousness, we're looking for a few people to help keep
the peace and manage things from the 24rd to the 31st while i introduce
bill to sunlight and fresh air.
duties:
something along the lines of a substitute school teacher. all you have to do
is wave a stick occasionally and keep things in line. assuming that bill
doesnt change the new and highly contentious policy that just went up, you'll
only have to do a little office duty. if he does change it back, you'll have
to spend about 2-3 hours a day scanning through each mail and whacking
undeliverables (aka 'trash duty') and letting moderated mail through that
backs up in the qeue.
proposed method of salary:
as many spare parts and odd stuff lying around as you'd like
(max shipping weight 200lbs, pick-up weight unlimited).
requirements:
the perfect candidate must be familiar with sunhelp-style of management
and the machines/operating system involved (duh, suns, solaris, etc). this
person is also willing to have fun with masochism during the vacation
week. vague knowledge of german is helpful[1].
if interested in this position, please send mail briefly listing your
qualifications and a smallish essay on why you'd actually want to do this
kind of shit-job in microsoft word format[2] to Amy at her regular email
address.

[1]--only half-joking. we get more please-help private mail in german
than the ex-kaiser's family.
[2]--just kidding, text is fine. ;)
