when we went to the architects with our list of pleases and maybes, what i
liked most was that they understood when i said that everything in the
house (from roof to floors) had to be big-dog-indestructible. the last
thing i ever wanted was a pretty home that my dog or cats would destroy
in under a week.
functional can also be very attractive, imo. its kinda like he
fancy-schmancy bigass kitchens people have designed into houses these
days. they're designed to look good and perform poorly, cause 9 out of 10
women/men nowadays dont cook. meanwhile, when i was asked if i wanted a
larger kitchen i said nope, my galley is fine and it works great and looks
right in comparison to the size of the house.
we're going very much for form and function in the remodel...we don't have
much space to work with (1400) so everything's being used. unused coat
closets--doesn't get cold enough to own a coat here--are being turned into
bookshelves, etc. the garage is gonna end up the 'media room', aka two
computers, a tv, and a couch.
aanyways, i better stop before bill starts yelling that i'm obsessed
again. :)

that would probably work extremely well for a museum.
