Ok, but what happens if you want to sell your car? Would it carry
over? It would be easy for them to say that amounts are not
transferable, meaning that if you put $20,000 over 10 years into a
car's insurance, that they would simply keep it when it was sold. I
think that from what I have leant of insurance companies, this would
be very likely.
Personally, be happy you have some choice in insurer, because people
in Manitoba buy insurance form one crown corporation, MPI, sold
through several resellers, essentially. Rates do not change between
places, and MPI is the one who decides about claims and so on. I
don't think that they charge more by age, but you will pay big for a
motorcycle, or other sports car, and their claim settlements are the
shits form what I hear.
