To be fair to him though, for quite a while IBMs IDE drives were as
solid as their SCSI.  Apparently someone decided IDE meant cheap and
started cutting the wrong corners.

It's those sudden complete changes in quality that make you question
ALL IBM drives...  I haven't seen any problem with any of my
Ultrastars, but I'd be a little wary of buying a brand new model
IBM drive...
