Also, how many of the cabs in DC buy NEW vehicles? Probably they buy
used police cars as many cab companies do. Heck, in Fort Lauderdale,
Yellow Cab, the BIG company in town (the owner of it owns MANY cab
companies all across the country) used to buy new taxi package cars, but
switched to buying used police cars. Car prices have skyrocketed, and
it's just not financially feasible to buy new ones for the type of abuse
a cab gets.
