I've been there and done that. It *totally* sucks. However, in my case,
they were terminating me for violations of the company's computer
acceptable use policy, liberally applied.

They'd never heard of a toor account and it's uses. Thought I'd
`backdoored' the server. Never got the chance to educate -- they ran me
out on a rail. After one month.

Used to be my .sig. Ironic that HR praises on one side and slaps on the
other. Hopefully, you'll make it out somehow. (Also, I see that HR is the
same, no matter what side of the pond you're on.)

Ah yes -- our prison system. Designed to `rehabilitate' `hardened'
`criminals', it actually does anything but. So, is this something he did
and was rightfully convicted of, or is he a victim of circumstance? I
mean, he's terminal, so he's off one way or the other, but this seems like
exactly the wrong reason to jail someone -- not that I'm advocating that
terminal folks be given a free ride to wantonly break the law, but they
aren't exactly going to be here as long as the rest of us. Maybe a few
letters to Congress-critters if he's in the federal system?

Prisons, law enforcement, and drug laws are three things that bother me
the most. It's really ironic -- if Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and
the others were alive today, they'd be jailed as a terrorist cell.
