[geeks] root equivalent user

Depends on the *nix you are using, and on the filesystem.  If everything 
is in order, the best way to do this is via ACLs, ie:

setfacl -m u:someuser:w /usr
(under Linux with POSIX ACLs on either ext2, ext3, JFS, or XFS)
